Stop and think about yesteryear if you will, when Star Trek, the original Star Trek, was around. Think about some of the technology that was protrayed on that show, and then look at today's technology. Was yesterday's science fiction today's science fact?

But, to some degree, it still can be considered as such, no?

Actually, I heard on the news that they're already starting to make cars that go in the air. They're not on the market yet of course, but people are starting to make and test them themselves.

We do have robots such as the machine which defuses boms deemed to dangerous for humans..and those built by scientists in Japan, who are already living the future..they are scarily growing live skin in the hopes of creating the 1st human-robot hybrid...And many scientists at Nasa, though its classified info, are looking at anti matter and warp drive, as a way of powering the next generation of space craft which resemble UFO'S. So are the visitors as we think of them actually from this planet.

Exactly! When I've watched Star Trek and Star Wars, it was amazing to see some of the things that they presented, and only to realize that later, it's almost true.

I feel Star Trek ect could have been concieved as a test bed for new scientific theories, cloaked sorry couldn't resist in a tv show.. but and it is a big BUT, should we really be trying to perfect warp drive ect...when I think its 4 shuttle missions, have ended in tragic loss of life...
